I guess I'm not clear. If you have a bootable -8 version, can you not boot with that, and then when prompted, say yes to in place upgrade, then point it to the -9 ISO file? That's what I've always done.
I can see the UCSInstall_CUP_10.5.1.10000-9.sgn.iso is available on CCO.
You should be able to do this to a subscriber node in a cluster where the publisher is already at "-9".
I'm interested to know if this is an issue. Cause I've always assumed this would work.

That makes sense, for sure. Only that the installed version is -9 and my ISO is -8. So, it's the reverse of what I need. If only we could downgrade during an install. ;) Just kidding.
Again, my question is: why the two different base versions and does anyone know what happened to -8?

If I recall correctly, you can apply a patch during installs. This should allow you to add a subscriber to a cluster with a different bootable ISO but the current patch level file available.
I've done this on more than one occasion with CallManager.
That being said, imp could be different.
In addition I think there was a bug with early v9 files that wouldn't allow an install with upgrade so I was not able to test this out. I had to get a bootable ISO cut for me.

Thanks Ryan. This is not a typo on my part, I did mean -8 and -9 respectively.
My IM&P pub is installed with 10.5.1.10000-9, but I only have a bootable ISO for 10.5.1.10000-8 available to me at the moment. So, I cannot build out my sub(s) at this time.
However, my question is more like, what's up with the -8 and -9 anyway? Did something happen to the -8 base version? Deferral?
I'm working on getting a -9 bootable ISO at the moment.

While, like you, I can't account for 10.5.1.10000-8; it does seem that 10.5.1.10000-9 would be available for your subscriber build (unless it was a typo and you're looking for 10.5.1.10000-8).

Try: https://software.cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=286269517&softwareid=282074312&release=10.5%282%29SU1&relind=AVAILABLE&rellifecycle=&reltype=latest
Not sure if when you login with your CCO it will go to the same place? See the screen shot.

All,
Does anyone know what happened to the following IM&P versions?
10.5.1.10000-8 and 10.5.1.10000-9
As in, why are there two base versions? I've not seen this in the past that I can recall.
I have an existing 10.5.1.10000-9 system, where I would like to build out a new subscriber node, but the only access I have to a bootable ISO is 10.5.1.10000-8.
A quick google search confirms that people are talking about both versions at different times, but no where could I find a comparison of the two.
Thanks.
