I think you're correct.  CUCM is for sure a numeric first platform.  To my
knowledge to have a registered endpoint of any kind, it has to have a
numeric DN assigned.  I don't know of a way to only have a SIP URI.

I don't think there is a way to impact the order.  Normally the SIP URI
would match the extensions and it wouldn't matter. But during my migration
they will not be the same until we're all done moving the customer off a
legacy Avaya and Skype4B system

What makes it more confusing is if you have Cloud registered Jabber (legacy
Webex messenger, not Spark/Teams) it lists the SIP URI first and then the
numeric extensions.
