Thought you'd seen it all?

...so there I was, going through brother Stu's (K8SJ - silent key
last June) stuff and ran across thre junker DX-20's (from
which I should be able to assemble one complete nice one), and lo
and behold! One of them had the final tube assembly removed (or
maybe never installed), and instead, there mounted on the rear of
the chassis, heat sinks and all, are two large power transistors!
What on earth project would take a DX-20 and try to convert it to solid
state!!!

I am tempted to polish that one up and carry it to hamfests with
me just for the comments it might draw - and maybe put an outraggeous
price on it as a rare Heath transistorized DX-20...... Go figure!

Oh - and I could use a good copy of the DX-20 manual - at least
operating instructions and schematic. Fees and postage covered by
me, of course.. That's either with or without the transistors..
