A good source of information on vacuum tubes is "Tube Lore" by Ludwell
Sibley. The book is available from Antique Radio Classifieds and others.
Of course, if you need detailed specs then the old RCA receiving tube
manual is hard to beat. Tube Lore says the 12AT7 "WA" and "WB", as well
as "WC" suffix indicates those are ruggedized versions with
progressively tighter process controls. I would think that probably
means they're MIL or perhaps ruggedized industrial types. Tube-type
equipment is generally not very fussy about what flavor device you
happen to be using. That is, except for certain applications such as
final RF power amplifiers and drivers.
