That's pretty much it, Ed.  The 6146, 6146A, and 6146B are essentially the
same tube, with each letter version designating an improvement in the basic
design.  The 6146W is a "ruggedized" 6146B... heftier plates, grids, etc.

If one can afford it, go with 6146W, with B version next best.
