6146 Tubes...

This subject has passed thru this list a few times. I do not recall all
the variations in the tube designs, but in general the early Heath stuff
used the 6146, followed later by the "A" version and later still by
the "B" version.  Seems to me there were some circuit changes also
to handle the increased current draw of the later tubes. And I also
remember reading in the Heath Service Bulletins about what tube to
use where and what not to use.....So look before you leap...

As for the "W" version, seems to me that guy was a "ruggedized" version
made to "MilSpec", but is a "B" tube electrically.....in any case,
the Tube Jockeys shud have the info and the "Hams at Heath" also
can contribute...
