To Keepers of the Green,

Does anyone out there know where a guy might find information on how to re-silkscreen panels after painting or use alternative techniques of accomplishing the same?

Many years ago they sold dry transfers for make homebrew receivers and transmitters look professional. Today, you don't see them , because there just isn't much homebrew anymore.

For those of us who want to restore Heathkit and other equipment and enjoy doing it ourselves, there must be method that is practical and not expensive.

With advances in computer printing, scanning and special adhesive papers, you should be able to match fonts, scan and copy logos, print and re-letter a panel that rivals silkscreen painting. All of the art work should be able to be done on a home computer with a good printer and applied to a panel like dry transfers. You could seal the lettering with a clear non gloss substance to make it extremely durable.

If anyone out there is knowledgeable about panel silk-screening and alternative techniques or where we might find literature, I'm sure there are many who restore radios on the LISTSERV would be keenly interested and love to be enlightened.

Thanks,

Bob
