check R316 on the audio circuit board. This guy changes value and will screw
up things.

THen check RFC101 on the IF board. If this choke is open, the IF stage runs
amuck.

watch the VR tube on the audio board. if it goes out, then check for open
resistor r305 the value may have increase.

ANd, my sb102 also sounds like there is a buzz in the audio.I have yet to
discover the fix. Try this... reduce the RF gain and see if the audio clears
up. If it does, then your radio has the same problem as mine. And, no I have
yet to figure it out.
