Bad News for Former Heath Employees

Pardon my using this list as a bulletin board, but it's the fastest way I
know to relay the following information.

Most former Heath employees (factory and store) will likely remember Ray
Nelson, WA8KEW. He was in charge of the product Evaluation labs which
included the proof-build program. Ray passed away last Thursday at the
tender age of 60. Ray was known by many as a "permanent" member of the
Heathkit Dayton Hamvention team. He was also called "Fire Truck" at work
as he volunteered on a local department for over 30 years, rising to
Ass't Chief.

Some of you might also remember Don Fife, W8REQ. Don passed away three
weeks ago at the age of 67. He was among other things a Tech Consultant
and Service tech at Heath for many years.

The list of "formers" grows shorter. Anyone needing more info can email
me.
