The UK is dropping the code test 99.9% for access to the HF bands effective January 1,
2002.

You heard it here first!

Take alook at Q6 on this web page. They get access to ALL HF bands.

If I am not mistaken this is pretty much the same as a General class license,
but due to a "loophole" in the wording of the international regulations, it looks
like any serious CW requirement is now completely down the tubes.

It can't be long before the U.S.A. follows suit.
