Proper SB-1000 output.

Hello to the group. Just need a little input from the group on output
with a SB-1000 amp. I purchased an extremely clean SB1000 amp and
installed a Graphite 3-500z tube. It is currently wired for 110. With
a bird meter I get 500watts output on 20 meters driven by 95 watts from
the FT757GX. Should I expect more when I find a 220 circuit for the amp
and rewire it for 220? Is this output common for this amp running on
120v mains?
The unit "spits" occasionally when driven by 100 watts on some bands,
even 20m. Is there a problem?
Is this amp safe to key a solid state exciter or is it similar to the
older 220's that I use a heil double footswtich with or Harback soft key
mod?

A lot of questions, but thanks for any guidance. Linears are new to me
as I am usually QRP or QRO under 100watts.

Thanks Jan N6YV
