Ok,
In the interest of trying to help the person that has the power supply
problem.
I hope this helps.
I read all the posts, but just remember that there was a transformer
question.

I have a Astron RS-35A ( fixed 12 volt output ) on the test bench.
Checked it and found the following information.

The transformer in mine is 33 volts AC into  2 bridge rectifiers.
BUT...
Only 1/2 of each bridge is used. They are in parallel

It is a full wave design.

But it has 33 volts AC to the diodes.
