DX-100 grid current flicker

What final amplifier tubes are you running? The
DX-100 is most happy with 6146 / 6146A / 8298 tubes.
If you are running 6146B / 8298A or else 6146W tubes
with a code date after 1964 (that makes them the
equivalent of the 6146B), then that may be your
problem. The 6146B type of tubes often "take off"
when used in equipment that was originally designed
for the "plain" 6146 series.

Take a look at the 6146 article on either of my
websites http://home.attbi.com/~k9sth or
http://home.attbi.com/~zcomco for the article that was
in Electric Radio a couple of years ago about the 6146
family of tubes.

Of course, there could be other things as well.
However, the use of 6146B type tubes does cause all
sorts of problems.

The grid current seems to flicker - it'll start at 5
mA, then suddenly jump to 4 or 3 mA then back up.
