Hi Folks

The reason for military recommendations is the fact that a lot of Mil
equipment runs 24 hours a day and also has established reliability numbers that are
met by engineers being very conservative as to applied voltage vs. rated
voltage, temperature of operation ( a big contributor to electrolytic life) and
other issues.

It doesn't mean they will fail at 12 to 15 years it means that to 'guarantee'
that the equipment is functional when needed an established maintenance
schedule including replacement needs to be established. Remember that when some
warfighter pushes a button, turns a knob, pulls a trigger it has to work, the
military business has no second chances.
