It is very easy to "kill" the clipper in the Apache
and that is to just unplug the 6AL5. Frankly, the
clipper stage causes more problems than it ever might
have helped!
That is what I suggest doing as well as replacing the
three capacitors.

control, which should be more appropriately called the
"Clipper Gain" control, should only be turned up a few
degrees above the minimum mark. The real audio gain
control is located behind the key jack.
