Wagging DX-35 Meter

Welcome to the world of the moving vane meter! The
DX-20, DX-35, Globe Chief 90 series, Johnson
Adventurer, and many other transmitters had this type
of meter. Frankly, they "bang" all over the place yet
don't seem to get "hurt".
That is just one of the "pleasures" of using a
transmitter that was designed in the 1950s. You can
replace the meter with a "better" type, but the
transmitter definitely will not be "original".

I'm looking for either a replacement meter for my
DX-35, or expertise on how to remedy the needle
wagging like a happy puppydog's tail.
