CR-1 query

Bryan:

The Heathkit CR-1 is a crystal receiver and NOT a type
of crystal (i.e. HC6/U, FT-243, etc.).  It basically
uses a germanium diode with a tuned circuit,
headphones, antenna, and a ground.  If I remember
correctly it was basically for the AM broadcast band.
