Worst assembly job ever...

Hi Guys-
Just thought I'd share a laugh... I just received an HM-102 SWR/Watt Meter for my ham radio setup which I'd purchased from an e-bay seller. He DID advertise it as "Untested", so I have no problem with it in that way.

I thought I could just hook it up in line between the transmitter & antenna, but, of course, it just isn't that easy...

I was looking it over- it looks great on the outside- when I noticed what looked like a couple loose wires inside the remote unit, after I took off the cover.

So I opened the unit- Wow. What a bad job! Almost all the solder joints are poor- I mean Real Bad! The antenna connections, which had once been connected, were disconnected for some reason.

So, I decided to leave positive feedback, but did mention the defects, but that I was happy- ALL the parts are there, I just have to disassemble & reassemble the unit. And I as happy to find info on the unit online, so I have a schematic, in case of any problems. Should have it working within a week.

In other news, I am trying to tune up my HO-10, but am having trouble differentiating between line noise and any increase when adjusting the 1000 cycle trimmer. But otherwise, I replaced all the caps & all the resistors, although the old ones seemed to be within 20% spec, so maybe I didn't need to. Hope to have it done in a day or so, and in use shortly :)

Scott
