Just had the thought that I may not posted my efforts to build a HR-1680 Extender on this list. Ouch - sorry for that. Anyways I have come up with a simple process to make extenders for my HR-1680. The key words are 'simple' and 'low cost'. I've built a set and they seem to work ok - at least I no longer have an excuse not to work on my 1680!

I put the results on my website:
<http://sites.google.com/site/wa2cky/Home/hr1680-extender>

Because I had to buy a fair number of connector pins and sockets, I did offer 'sets' to others and 5 sets have already gone out the door. I have ordered more parts and they are expected in the
next couple of days or so. So if you would like a set, please contact me.

Each set consists of the wire + 20 of the pins and 20 of the sockets. For those in the USA, the total (with shipping ) is $4.00 if you send me a check or $4.75 if you use PayPal (use 'rgroh at swbell.net' for PayPal). My mailing address is:

For
those in other countries, I have been not including the wire to hold
down the shipping charge. Use of PayPal is mandatory for payment. The
charge should be about (for First Class International) $7.00 USD. For
Priority Mail International (which is undoubtedly faster), the
cost would be $18.00 USD total. Please contact me before hand to confirm the cost for international.
