I am not sure what these knobs look like, but one sure-fire treatment for 
unfinished (not painted or lacquered) metals is SIMICHROME POLISH by 
Happich, often available at kitchen stores, gun shops at some Wal-Marts This 
stuff is almost magic on chrome or stainless... gives a nice shine with 
depth, and is great at cleaning away oxidation and dirt. Just be careful to 
use as directed...

I am in the process of restoring a TX-1, but the knobs have lost their
