I omitted to say that I often wash individual Heath parts including cases
in mild soapy water first to remove the grime and dirt. Kitchen washing up
liquid works well and kitchen lemon/yellow cleaners are good on crackle
paint. Rinse and dry well after cleaning and sparingly lubricate grub screws
and hinge parts to prevent subsequent corrosion. I often stand items on a
central heating radiator for an hour or two to ensure that they are fully dry,
followed by much frowning by my wife - ham radio and eccentric are words
that often appear here!
