sb200

Obviously there is plate current if the amp works so it comes down to the
simple meter circuit. On the original power supply board from Heathkit you
read the current flow through R12 via R14 in series with the meter. Since
both of these resistors were mounted on the power supply board the Harbach
board will have an equivalent circuit. I checked their website and I don't
see a schematic for the power supply. I put one of these supplies in my
SB-201 several years ago and I know that there was a schematic at that time
but I am at my office right now and don't have access to that diagram so I
can't tell you which component(s) to check. The meter switch contacts and
connections at pins 2 and 8 should be checked also. The wire from pin 2
goes to the resistor on the p/s board and pin 8 goes to ground. For
starters double check your installation of the power supply module. Maybe
you omitted a wire or made a wiring error. Good luck.

Subject: [HEATH-TEMPE] sb200
I have finally gotten my sb200 to work after installing the Harbach soft
start and power modules. Everything is working ok except on 40m and its
output is low, but that is another story.
Meter reading are ok except for plate current and it does not move on any
of the bands. Any ideas what I should look at that might cause this problem?
I can't figure out what is connected in the plate position.
Thanks
Jack
