When will I ever learn? (SB-101)

I have found that running through the testing section of the manual
(starting with 'inital test'), pushing through and finding the sources for
any errors from the expected measurement, and fixing them along the way,
quickly reveals many failure points. Caveat - original measurements were
made with VTVM, and any measurements that checks for diode leakage will
measure differently when you use a different meter. Look for GROSS
differences.
Also check your tubes, it's easy to do and emlininates common tube failures.
Use a general coverage SW reciever (a small digital one like a Sangean or
Grundig is great) to check that all the oscillators are running (carrier,
VFO, heterodyne, calibrator...).
That's what I did.
