Hello Chris, Bob, Dave,
Thanks for your response to my query.
And Bob; that's quite a novel idea but, I think it might be a bit beyond my capabilities!!!
Dave. What I had in mind was to replace the point to point wiring with a few PC Boards, but still use the vacuum tubes. Your idea to go all solid state sounds very interesting but is going far beyond what I had in mind. Nevertheless I would be interested in hearing how you are progressing.
I got the idea for a PC Board conversion after seeing a PC Board upgrade put out by Heath (many years ago) for their VTVM Model IM-28. My VTVM IM-28 is an older model and uses P to P wiring.
I also have an HO-10 Monitor Scope which needs re-building. As this model is about half the size of the SB-610 I thought it would be an ideal candidate for PC Board conversion, mainly because of the cramped space under the chassis.
Let me, and everyone else, know how you progress with your re-design.
