Hi Ken
 
I would like to think that there is room in this hobby for both the serious 
 collector and the serious modifier and any other combination that you can 
think  of. I have had my share of being lectured by purists when I have 
announced a  modification.
 
In Europe, the 40m band in the evenings still has such large signals that  
spurious signals from intermodulation products can be heard on original  
design Heath receivers - let alone when contests are running.
