[Heath] Bare vs Insulated

[Doug & Kathy Davies]

I notice in many of the Heathkit manuals they say to use bare wire with
sleeving added.  Why not just use insulated wire, either solid or
stranded?  Is there a 'scientific' reason for this?  Just curious.
