[iptv-users] Video Freezing

FYI, this is what one person shared with me off-list. I know of one other
Calix shop in Iowa that had an ongoing IP video issue and it was also
resolved by replacing the OC-48 card, a card that didn't have any visible
issues.

We are seeing issues on our CO shelf, too, where the video comes in, so I
would think that doesn't cross the OC-48 cards, but who knows, maybe it
does.

Frank,

We had the exact issue three weeks ago with a Calix ring. No errors
anywhere in the path, the issue affected ADSL, VDSL and FTTH customers, all
but one node was affected. It turned out being a bad OC-48 card that showed
NO ERRORS, NO NOTHING for days, however, the problem was going on for
several days, intermittent and hard to "catch" at first and then it was
almost continuous for about 12 hours. I had Calix TAC in the network and
they spent about four hours taking logs and reading numbers and could not
point at anything. Then finally the guy suggests to start swapping out
OC-48 cards one at a time until the problem cleared.....it only took
swapping out five different cards... :-(

<snip>

As far as test equipment goes, we rely simply on our customers at this
point, the equipment is too expensive at this point, at least for us, the
customer is usually more than willing to call when the picture is bad!

Are ALL of your nodes experiencing this issue?
