Hallo Olaf,
I guess you mean a SM (Service-Module).
The TSM (Tunnel-Server-Module) is EOL (beginning with JUNOSe 5.1) and
only support 8k sessions.
Correct, the SM support 16k sessions, to have 32k L2TP sessions on a LNS
you need 2 SM.
On the E320 you will have no dedicated SM, you only have LM4's or
LM10's, but you'll have a special Service-IOA.
With this service IOA you will have the same funtionality as with the SM
in a ERX1440 (16k sessions and LM4 throughput for example).
On the E320 it is also possible to run the server functionality on a LM.
This is also possible on the GE-2 (GE-HDE, GE-HDE-8) linecards on a
ERX14x0.
In this case the throughput will be shared with the other port on that
LM.
The max. number of sessions will be 8k in that case.
The number of L2TP sessions per chassis on a E320 will be still 32k, but
the number of PPP/PPPoE sessions will be increase to 96k on a E320.
Gruesse nach Hamburg,
Bernd.
