Because those active routes are not in the mpls table. That is a summary
banner for the sum of all routing tables.

Do a show route to see all routes in all tables. The "missing" active
routes will be found spread over the remaining non-mpls.0 tables.

When you run the following command, why you can't see the 679 active
routes.

junos> show route protocol mpls table mpls.0

mpls.0: 679 destinations, 679 routes (679 active, 0 holddown, 0 hidden)

+ = Active Route, - = Last Active, * = Both

0 *[MPLS/0] 4w5d 13:23:40, metric 1

                      Receive

1 *[MPLS/0] 4w5d 13:23:40, metric 1

                      Receive

2 *[MPLS/0] 4w5d 13:23:40, metric 1

                      Receive
