Luis,

Unfortunately, I did not have JunOS based devices back that far in 
releases, but what that message is telling you is that something in the 
configuration is not going to be compatible with the newer version, so 
if you use the no-validate option I believe you will have to correct the 
configuration once the new version is loaded so you better have console 
access, a copy of your old config, and perhaps some type of access to 
the JunOS docs for the new version.

which talks about having to use the no-validate option pre 8.5 but it 
isn't clear about what happens to the config - I would guess it would 
have to be manually corrected.

Hope this helps some and maybe others on the list have more experience 
with that upgrade path.
