Dears,
A propo of IPFIX - hoping somebody reading can shed some light (after
having unsuccessfully cursed through all available 10.2 to 10.4 JunOS
versions):
* Among data and option records i don't seem to see any reference to
a sampler ID. I see options coming but below is all i can see:
Scope Field Count: 1
.... .000 1001 0000 = Scope Type: FLOW_EXPORTER (144)
Scope Field Length: 4
.000 0000 1010 0000 = Type: systemInitTimeMilliseconds (160)
Length: 8
.000 0000 1000 0010 = Type: exporterIPv4Address (130)
Length: 4
.000 0000 1101 0110 = Type: collectorProtocolVersion (214)
Length: 1
.000 0000 1101 0111 = Type: collectorTransportProtocol (215)
Length: 1
* Arguable choice to carry exporterIPv4Addres (only) in the options.
From IANA assignments table: "The IPv4 address used by the Exporting
Process. This is used by the Collector to identify the Exporter in
cases where the identity of the Exporter may have been obscured by
the use of a proxy.". This would point to have the same also in the
data records. Actually, would point to have it in the header just
like sFlow folks thought of ages ago but that's another story ...
* See some sequencing issues, something remains stuck to 0.
* Curiosity: is IPv6 anywhere in the radar?
Any replies on or off-list appreciated.
Cheers,
Paolo
