[Outages-discussion] [outages] MSN outage?

Today we had two techs report that two customers on different access
networks (one cable modem, the other VDSL2) that had a browser couldn't load
MSN. Both were using a SOHO router and the routers handed out their IP as
the DNS server to the PCs. I remotely assisted the tech with the first
customer and confirmed the DNS resolution problem with their browser and
ping, but nslookup showed that it could resolve both www.msn.com and
msn.com. I flushed DNS using ipconfig /flushdns and then the Windows ping
command confirmed that it could resolve to an IP.
The second customer's issue was apparently resolved by resetting their
wireless access point and computer(s).

Anyone else see some MSN DNS issues lately?

Frank
