[Outages-discussion] Experiencing VzW LTE outage across the US

Our devices are configured to use ICMP to determine whether they're online.  They're configured to reboot after about 6 minutes if there has been no ICMP response during that time (6 pings).  We've tried changing the destination IP, but it appears that we are not getting ICMP responses at all.  I can, however, ping the device's VzW static IP, but reachability varies by source IP.

We're trying to remove that ICMP test to see if they stay online, and are only impacted by having ICMP partially blocked.

We have a similar hardware setup for tertiary Internet access using Telus in Canada, which is not affected, so we're pretty sure this is either a Verizon Wireless, or an upstream dependency issue.
