CallManager has Call Forward All, Busy, and No Answer settings. Call Forward
All is the only user accessible call forward option. In typical
installations, the Forward No Answer and Forward Busy are set to ring to
Voicemail or a assistant/operator/backup type person where vm is not
required.

When your user leave their desk and wants to forward their calls somewhere,
all they need to do is press the Call Forward All softkey on their phone and
enter the necessary digits to forward the call. No all calls to that DN will
follow the forward that the user set. When the user returns to the phone and
wishes to cancel the Call Forward All, they simply press the Call Forward
All and the forward is released. Now the phone will ring when the DN is
called.

Subject: [cisco-voip] Call forward no answer

I have a customer with requirement (which is standard on any PBX) which we
just can't seem to get a work around.here it is

Call Forward All Calls

Call Forward Busy

Call Forward No Answer

Are standard smartKey (softKey) functionality for user on PBX.

My client runs a news business that relies on all calls if unanswered to
route back to switchboard operator, if journalist (user) moves from desk
(leaves building etc) and sets call forward to another phone or mobile etc
and then returns, they simply press the call forward smartKey and the
default setting for calls to route back to switch if unanswered is invoked.

Hence the user never impacts on the default setting and does not have to
re-enter the destination switch extension when reactivating the default
route.

Eg In callmanager 4.1 when the user changes his settings (forward all calls)
and returns he must press call FWD softkey, and then re enter the default
switch number (extension).

Is there a workaround?

And Cisco documentation indicates that Call forward busy and call forward no
answer can be configured softkeys.yet cisco say it is not so?
