Well, I can't tell you what the difference is, but I've seen a difference with all of the ways to reset a phone, that includes **#**, using reset or restart from callmanager interface, and then finally, unplugging the phone. We typically ask people to do **#** and then unplug their phones. If a problem persists, then we investigate.

  I am under the impression that resetting the phone via **#** from the phone is NOT equal to resetting the phone from ccm.

   

  I was originally told, back in 3.x days, that **#** just reboots the phone. It does not tell the phone to go out and pull down the new or same config.

   

  The only way to really sync up the config between phone and ccm is by either brand new phone installation, OR reset the phone from CCM (and it has to be registered).

   

  Can anyone please help me out?
