[cisco-voip] How to Find CUCM 6.x Serial Number

What number you use depends on what you want to cover. If you are just looking for hardware smartnet you HAVE to use the server serial number. Nowhere at Cisco is your UCM node PAK associated to a physical server serial #. There are instances where you would but a server and not even buy a UCM node PAK (like a dedicated MoH/TFTP server).

I have ran across this many times with customers where they had one thing covered and not the other when I comes to UC licensing/support/smartnet.

Ok thank to all Guys.

I've found a S/N on the front of the Cisco MCS server. I think that is a HW S/N not a Software S/N, but i will try to buy a Smartnet using that number.

Tell me "Good Luck"

Thank you all.

Serial number is on the chassis of the server. Some versions of hardware/software don't support reporting of the SN via the 'show hardware' command. If you don't have physical access to the server you may be able to work with your reseller or account team to find the original SO which would list the serial number.

The only thing the MAC is used for is node and DLU licensing. This only applies to the publisher.

Hi Guys, I've a Customer with a cluster of CUCM 6.1, that need to buy and activate a smartnet on it.

The problem is that Customer has lost orignal installation CD, and for buy smartnet contract Cisco ask me for a Serial number!

Do you know if there is a possibility to extract that information from Cisco Unified Communication Manager Shell or Web Admin?

Thank you for your help.

Best Regards
