That's the approach I would take as well. Rather than "dead air" I would simply use "no greeting". Making the input "locked" is the key, so that it doesn't wait for additional entries.
The key here, however, is the error greeting, you have to cycle them up one level rather than starting at the call handler itself.

Only thing I can think of is to add extra menu call handlers for options 1 and 3 with dead air and multiple reprompt and set the caller inputs to locked. It should cycle fast enough to seem as though it's the same menu.

Is it possible to have two digit menu selections in Cisco Unity Connection 7?
IE, Press 11 for X
Press 39 for Y
The request was to provide an emergency calling directory. Dial this one number, and then select the phone number we need from the menu of about 20-30 choices.
I also have UCCX availible, but I've never programmed ANY thing in it other than add agents to the existing queues.
The only thought I have off the top of my head is chaining menu's together.
