i usually integrate the ucm and presence with ldap to avoid issues also with
IM so whenever the user wants to add a contact it's indeed displayed on the
list
i can see that happening the account with RO access to the user's mailbox is
going to try look for that user's userid and if it doesn't find it whenever
the user has a meeting on the calendar it won't change the status to "in a
meeting"
