we were having loads of problems with our TFTP server (funny enough, the Globescape one that Cisco recommends/suggests), and in all cases, the CDR process behaved as advertised, holding on to the files until it could talk to it. the only thing i can complain about is that the process uses some funny file modification command that fails unless the ownership is correct. we're an AD/NFS/CIFS shop that uses many mounts and unix utilities. we found it hard to understand why the process was so picky.
anyways, we're running 7.1(5)sr something

Subject: [cisco-voip] CDR Files Fail to send to External FTP Server
We have had periodic problems with our clients CDR files stopping transmission when they have a problem with the target FTP server. The connection times our during a transfer and then the CDR services will not send again until they are restarted, even if the error condition on the remote end resolves itself. I have been told by a colleague that he worked with TAC on this in the past and it was normal behavior. I don’t doubt that this is possible, but it seems pretty bad design that the CDR send won’t just retry again later. Anyone have any insight on this?
Thanks!
